Prologue
At just 6.5km, the prologue will hardly pull big time differences between the leading Tour rivals as they set off from the Eiffel Tower.

History
Lance Armstrong took the yellow jersey in last year's Tour de France prologue to stamp his claim over the race early on.

Stage winner

David Millar came within a whisker of taking the yellow jersey but it was left to Bradley McGee to take the early glory.
