Bellerive Oval
One-Day International 11 January

You do not need to be a genius to realise that going to Tasmania presents one major problem - getting over the Bass Strait.
If you cannot afford to fly, then it is all aboard the Spirit of Tasmania I or II for the nine-hour crossing from Melbourne to Devonport leaving at nine, morning and evening.
Although it has been graced with only a one-day international, Hobart and Tassy deserve a longer look.
After endless dusty outback journeys on the mainland, the green scenery and quaint old towns will provide a blessed relief.
Hobart itself is tiny and if you are after a 24-hour party town then save yourself a trip and watch the game in a bar somewhere on television.
Basically, it is quiet, very quiet, although when the yachts roll into town the night has been known to go on until way after 10pm!
A couple of words of warning.
Always slap on plenty of sun cream as the ozone layer above Tassy has disappeared quicker than England's lower order and try and get tickets for the game in advance as the capacity at Bellerive Oval is just 11,000.
