Donington Park will once again host Superbike World Championship events after agreeing a three-year deal with official promoter Infront Motor Sport.
The Leicestershire circuit will stage the European Round in March 2011.
Circuit owner and chairman of Donington Park Racing Limited Kevin Wheatcroft, whose father Tom first brought the event to the area in 1988 was thrilled.
"Since my father's death last year, I always wanted to provide a world class event in his memory," he said.
Donington Park hosted the first round of the Superbike World Championship in 1988.
It last ran one in June 2009 but a much-publicised failed attempt to host Formula One racing saw the circuit lose its racing licence.
But Donington will now stage the event in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Paolo Flammini, chief executive officer of Infront Motor Sports said: "The Leicestershire circuit is where the Championship began its history 23 years ago and has hosted many successful rounds of our series over the years.
"Thanks to the presence of many competitive British riders both in the Superbike and Supersport classes, we are sure that the 2011 event will attract many fans and will be a huge success."
The circuit was given the go-ahead to stage international motorsport events after passing an inspection by the world motor racing governing body FIA and the Motorsport Association earlier this year.
