Lewis Hamilton, Chris Hoy, Rebecca Adlington

The top 10 contenders will be announced during The One Show on BBC One on Monday, 30 November at 1900.

Following the announcement each contender will be featured individually on The One Show in the 10 weekdays prior to the event.

On Wednesday, 2 December there will be a Sports Personality of the Year preview show on BBC One at 2245.

The Inside Sport special preview show will highlight the achievements of all of the top 10 contenders, while famous faces will lend their support for their favourite SPOTY contenders.

And as the preparation gets more intense in Sheffield, Question of Sport will include SPOTY themed rounds when it is broadcast on BBC One from 2030 on Friday, 11 December.

RADIO

BBC Radio 5 live

There will be an array of Sports Personality of the Year build-up and reaction on BBC Radio 5 live.

The debate over this year's top 10 will begin just hours after it has been announced with a live discussion on Monday 30 November between 2200-2230.

And as the final touches are being put to the television show, Fighting Talk with Colin Murray will come live from Sheffield on Saturday 12 December from 1100-1200.

On the night of the event BBC Radio 5 live will be broadcast from backstage at Sheffield Arena with a special guest panel who will discuss the sporting year along with presenter John Inverdale.

INTERACTIVE

The BBC Sport website will continue to be the place to go for all of the latest information on tickets, Young Sports Personality of the Year and Unsung Heroes, as well as behind the scenes films and interviews.

There will be a full rundown of the contenders and their achievements on the BBC Sport website, while the behind the scenes films will also be available on the red button.

During SPOTY on 13 December there will be a live text commentary taking in all that is happening on stage along with input from those working behind the scenes at the show.

So with Sports Personality of the Year on the horizon, there are plenty of ways of keeping across this year's event on the BBC.
