The allocation of public tickets made available for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards event have been sold in 45 minutes.
It is hoped a further batch of tickets will be released in the next two weeks once the set design at the Liverpool Echo Arena venue has been finalised.
The initial set of tickets for the Sunday 14 December event went on sale at 0900 GMT on Wednesday 29 October.

The show will be the biggest ever with around 8,000 people in attendance.
It is the first time the event will have been held in the city and the third time its been hosted outside London during its 55-year history.
The two-hour spectacular, broadcast live from 1900-2100 GMT, will be hosted by Sue Barker and Gary Lineker.
Roger Mosey, director of BBC Sport, said: "This is the first time Sports Personality Of The Year has been held in the north of England and we're hoping that people from all over the north and beyond will take the chance to attend the show live.
"It's a tremendous cast list and a great experience for the audience in the venue, and we hope this year will be a classic."

The awards, which honour the biggest names from across the world of sport, will be attended by a wide variety of sportsmen and women.
The event will pay tribute to an extraordinary year in sport, with the Olympics and Paralympics, Euro 2008, Wales' Six Nations Grand Slam, Wimbledon and Andy Murray's heroics in tennis, Lewis Hamilton leading the way in Formula One and Manchester United's Premier League and Champions League double, just some of the highlights.
