3 Jennifer Capriati DOB: 29.03.1976
Nationality: American
World Ranking: 3
Previous Wimbledon results:
2001 :: semi-finals
2000 :: fourth round
1999 :: second round
1998 :: second round

Twelve years ago, Capriati became the youngest seed in Grand Slam history when she was ranked 12th at Wimbledon.

Her subsequent fall and rise have been well documented and now Capriati seems determined to make up for lost time.

Last year, she lost in the semi-finals at Wimbledon when aiming to complete the third leg of a Grand Slam, having already triumphed in Australia and France.

Capriati has held on to her Australian crown this year but lost out to Serena Williams at the French Open.

Both Williams sisters have also gone ahead of her in the world rankings, but with a couple of big names missing from this year's draw Capriati will still be one of the major threats for the title.
