32. Cristina Torrens Valero

DOB: 12.9.1974
Nationality: Spanish
World Ranking: 35
Previous French Open results:
2001 :: third round
2000 :: first round
1999 :: third round
1998 :: first round
1998 :: first round

The 2001 season was Torrens-Valero's best to date, climaxing in her WTA Tour victory in Sopot.

She was also runner-up in Palermo and a semi-finalist in Bogota, Basle, Budapest and Tashkent.

Her track record at both the French Open and the three remaining Grand Slams has been poor and she has failed to reach the fourth round at 22 separate Grand Slam attempts.

Perhaps her best performances have come with the Spanish national team, whom she helped win the Fed Cup at the start of her career back in 1993.
