Top seed Gael Monfils has pulled out of next week's Aegon International in Eastbourne as he nurses a wrist injury ahead of Wimbledon.
The Frenchman withdrew from the Queen's Club tournament on Wednesday after picking up the injury in his second-round win over Andrey Golubev.
Britons Josh Goodall, James Ward and Colin Fleming have received wildcards.
On the women's side, Anne Keothavong, Elena Baltacha and Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova have also taken wildcards.
The Eastbourne event, which was previously a WTA event only, is hosting men's and women's tournaments for the first time.
Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic are among others in a strong women's field.
606: DEBATE"I've been there once before a few years ago but had to pull out because of injury, and I could see that it's a very peaceful, relaxed setting," said world number 13 Ivanovic, who will be making her Eastbourne debut.
"It looks like the perfect place to prepare for Wimbledon, but it's also a chance to win a prestigious title - I know that the tournament has great history.
"I've always thought that British tennis fans are among the best in the world and I enjoy playing in front of them."
Jankovic, 24, is competing in Eastbourne for the second time in her career and will hope to add to the grass-court title she won in Birmingham in 2007, when she beat Maria Sharapova in three sets.
Dementieva impressed in 2008 with a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics and already has two tour titles to her name in 2009 after wins in Auckland and Sydney.
Vera Zvonareva, Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka are also set to compete.
On the men's side, Tommy Haas and Ivan Ljubicic are confirmed. World number 21 Richard Gasquet was due to take part before he was suspended after testing positive for cocaine.
