Alex Bogdanovic

British number two Alex Bogdanovic was knocked out in the first round of the £20,000 ATP Challenger Series event in Jersey in straight sets on Tuesday.

The number seven seed and world number 184 went down 6-2 6-4 to Germany's Tobias Kamke, who is ranked 55 places below the Briton.

Slovakia's Dominik Hrbaty comfortably beat British wildcard Daniel Cox 6-2 6-1 to reach the next round.

Hrbaty now faces second seed Andreas Beck of Germany in the second round.

Meanwhile, Jersey's Katie Goyette failed to make the main draw for the women's £7,000 tournament.

She lost her qualifier to Russia's Polina Vinogradova 6-1 6-0.
