Four British players have reached the second round of US Open qualifying.

Women's number two Elena Baltacha saw off Pole Anna Korzeniak 7-6 (7-5) 5-7 6-0, while Melanie South beat Alberta Brianti of Italy 6-2 3-6 6-3.

They were joined by Katie O'Brien, who battled past Croatia's Petra Martic 3-6 6-4 6-0, but Naomi Cavaday went out.

GB men's number three Josh Goodall beat Spain's Miguel Angel Lopez Jaen 6-3 6-3 but Alex Bogdanovic, Alex Slabinsky and Richard Bloomfield all crashed out.
