Tarka Centre to stage LTA event

North Devon's £4m Tarka Centre is to host the first ever Ladies Barnstaple Open later this year.

The tournament will be listed as the UK's fifth largest LTA event, with a $50,000 prize fund.

It is hoped the event, which will commence the week beginning 6 October, will attract players with a world ranking of between 80 and 150.

Last year the Tarka Centre also successfully hosted its inaugural ATP Men's Challenge tournament.
