Delic delight at Liverpool trophy
US player Amer Delic is hoping to do well at Wimbledon after winning the men's singles of the Liverpool International Tennis Tournament.
The 25-year-old beat Paul Capdeville of Chile on a super tie-break at Calderstones Park at the weekend.
Delic had not played on grass in a year and he told BBC Radio Merseyside he was delighted with his week in Liverpool.
"Wimbledon's the big show, so hopefully I can have the same amount of success down there as I had here."
On his week in Liverpool, Delic added: "It's good to come here and get some matches under the belt against some quality players and get the confidence going before Wimbledon."
All matches at the Liverpool International are decided on a best-of-three sets basis.
Sunday's final saw Delic, the world number 132, beat Capdeville 6-7 6-4 10-7 (super tie-break).
