Henin captures fourth Dubai title
Justine Henin defeated Amelie Mauresmo 6-4 7-5 to defend her Dubai Open title - her fourth in five years.
The world number two broke Mauresmo twice in the first set and, though the French second seed pulled one back, Henin served out to love.
Mauresmo broke for a 2-0 lead in the second but Henin dug herself out of trouble and broke to level at 5-5.
A sixth double-fault by Mauresmo handed Henin the crucial break and she sealed victory in one hour 42 minutes.
The victory saw Henin add to the Dubai titles she won in 2003, 2004 and 2006, and was her 30th career title.
Mauresmo was playing in her second straight final after her victory in Antwerp last week.
"A fourth title here in Dubai is an amazing feeling," said Henin. "It's been a very good match.
"It's only my second tournament back after such a long time, and I could play my best tennis."
