Chakvetadze takes shock title win

Anna Chakvetadze Teenager Anna Chakvetadze continued her superb run of form to upset fifth seed Nadia Petrova in the final of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Russian beat her compatriot 6-4 6-4 to take her second career title following victory in Guangzhou two weeks ago.

Petrova was playing with groin and chest injuries and could not cope with her in-form opponent.

Chakvetadze broke twice in each set as she won in one hour 30 minutes.

"I was a bit lucky today as Nadia was not 100% fit," said Chakvetadze. "Nevertheless, I'm happy to win at home."

Petrova said: "I'm not going to make a tragedy out of this. I did what I could today.

"I had three parts of my body taped before the match and it obviously affected my play and limited my movement."
