Send your tributes to a racing great.
McCoy edged past Richards' target of 269 from 1947 by winning aboard Valfonic in the Leek Wooton Novices' Handicap Hurdle.
McCoy had earlier steered Shepherds Rest to victory in the Barford Handicap Chase to equal the 55-year-old record.
Sir Gordon Richards record was set on the Flat, but like Richards, McCoy has already been saluted as the best rider of his generation.
Excellent, the man is a genius.

He optimises the true sportsman; determined beyond belief and who knows his sport better than anyone. McCoy is a great earner for all the punters in the betting shops as he is a sure winner. Hope the winning continues!

Congratulations Tony on becoming the best jockey in history. You've certainly made me a few hundred quid down the years. Good luck on reaching 300!!!

McCoy is awesome; we all work hard in our chosen professions, I guess, but this man is unbelievable. He starves himself weekly yet remains 'the' strongest jockey you will see. His dedication, determination and sheer ability make him the best that's ever been. Sports Personality of the Year - no because racing is not widely followed - if it were McCoy would win it every year. Tony - you are the best.

It's a tremendous achievement for one of the all-time greats. It is fully deserved and inevitable given the regularity of his superb performances.
