The Predictor - back on BBC Sport

The Predictor

Football fans will be pleased to hear that the online game The Predictor is back on our screens.

The goal is to try to predict the scores of the Scottish Premier League matches each week.

Points are awarded for correctly guessing the exact score, or predicting that the match will be a draw or home win, for example.

There are bonus points available for guessing the first scorer for selected games too.

Players can set up mini-leagues with their friends to show off how well they can judge the form of the SPL teams - and they can try to beat the BBC Radio Scotland Sportsound pundits.

Part of the appeal of The Predictor is that it is so simple to play. It takes just a minute each week to enter your scores. And anyone can have a go - you can be a genius or just plain lucky!

Sportsound host Richard Gordon is too modest to suggest he is the former, but our resident football anorak beat almost 30,000 registered users a few seasons back to claim the title.

Tune in to Sportsound each week, on 92-95 FM, 810 MW, or online at the BBC Sport Scotland website, to hear how the pundits see that day's action unfolding.

And, if you're leading the table, expect a few envious mentions of your name on air.
