Walker out for the season
The season is over for European 200m Champion Dougie Walker.
The 28-year-old is to undergo surgery for a stress fracture in his foot which has now worsened.
A bone graft will be required to repair the damage meaning he would be out of action for around 6 - 8 weeks.
Walker last competed at the GB v USA and Russia meet at Scotstoun at the start of the month, however the Scot, running as a guest could only finish in 6th place.
World Championships
He is now forced to miss the highlight of the athletics season, the World championships which will be held in Canada next month.
This is the latest setback for Walker who made his long-awaited comeback after his drug ban, in the 400m at the Scottish Championships in Glasgow back in January.
