New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter will miss the Test against Italy after a high tackle on Martin Roberts in the 19-12 win over Wales last Saturday.
Carter, who can appeal, is free to resume playing on 17 November, in time for New Zealand's 21 November Test against England at Twickenham.
He appeared before IRB judicial officer Jeff Blackett on Tuesday.
The All Blacks face Italy in Milan on Saturday where Carter - struggling with a calf injury - may have been rested.
Stephen Donald or Mike Delany are the likely replacements for the New Zealand star, who was man-of-the-match in the Millennium Stadium win over Wales.
Australian Scott Nowland was the citing commissioner for Saturday's match in Cardiff.
The tackle came 10 minutes before the end of the match and was not fully seen by any of the match officials.
Referee Craig Joubert said that from his angle he was unable to make an accurate judgement on whether it constituted a dangerous tackle.

The hearing noted that Carter had a good disciplinary record and had not been sent off in his career.
Replacement scrum-half Roberts played down the high tackle, but the incident incensed Wales coaches Warren Gatland and Shaun Edwards.
"Looking at the replay it did look quite high," said Scarlets scrum-half Roberts.
"He did apologise to me. He said 'sorry for the tackle' after the game.
"Things like that happen in games, and you just have to take it on the chin. It looked bad, but I was fine.
"Everyone has got their views and opinions, but as a player you just get on with it. The referee makes decisions."
Carter was subsequently booed by the Millennium Stadium crowd after the incident and did plead that the tackle was unintentional.
"I have already given Martin an apology," he said afterwards.
"It wasn't intentional as I was running back as he had broken through our lines. It was one of those things."
But Gatland thought the incident should have seen the All Blacks reduced to 14 men for 10 minutes.
"It was a head-high tackle," said Gatland.
"A guy makes a break in the 22 and if that had happened at the other end then it would have been a penalty and a yellow card.
"All the officials missed it, so we are pretty disappointed with that."
Assistant Edwards added: "You see players get yellow-carded for that - you see players red-carded for that."
