Cardiff Blues, Wales and British and Irish Lions centre Jamie Roberts is expected to be fit for the new season after good news on his injured wrist.
A scan revealed that the problem he picked up in the second Lions Test was a sprain and not a break.
The 22-year-old was named as the Lions' Player of the Series after a hugely impressive tour of South Africa.
The medical student formed a dynamic centre partnership with Brian O'Driscoll in the first two Tests.
But he picked up the injury in the game at Loftus Versfeld and missed the third Test victory at Ellis Park.
Roberts' Lions award came after just two seasons as a full-time professional.

The Cardiff Blues star played at full-back and wing before finding a home at inside centre.
His imposing 6ft 3in, 16st 11lb frame has since wreaked havoc on opposing midfield defences, notably in Wales' 13-26 victory over Scotland in the opening game of this year's Six Nations.
