Wales must beat Wallabies - Jones
WALES v AUSTRALIA
Venue: Millennium Stadium Date: Saturday, 29 November Kick-off: 1430 GMT Coverage: Watch live on BBC One & online, listen to live commentary on BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Cymru & BBC Radio 5 Live Sports, live text commentary online
Fly-half Stephen Jones says Six Nations champions Wales must finish their autumn Test series with a victory over Australia in Cardiff on Saturday.
Wales only have one win under their belts, against Canada, and have been beaten by world champions South Africa and Tri-Nations winners New Zealand.
November 2005 was the last time Wales beat a southern hemisphere side.
"It's going to be huge because it's the last game in our campaign," said Jones. "It's a must-win game for us."
Jones pointed out the need to play effectively for the full 80 minutes which they failed to do against South Africa and New Zealand.
Wales led the All Blacks at half-time last Saturday before Graham Henry's side let rip in the second half to win 29-9.
But their first-half performance against the All Blacks and the way they finished in the 20-15 loss to South Africa a fortnight ago suggested another win against the Wallabies would be realistic.
"It's all about being sharp on the day and playing efficiently not just for 40 but for 80 minutes," said Jones.
"You know when you play Australia, you are going to have a difficult afternoon because they are a very good side and very efficient in the contact area like New Zealand.
"They play a different style and they kick a lot as well.
"From a players' perspective, you've got to prepare as if it's the biggest game."
But Jones admitted because of the short turnaround Wales would not be able to alter their tactical approach greatly for the game with the Wallabies.
"Time is against us," he added.
"A lot of the boys are battered and bruised from the weekend so it's about us preparing, doing our homework on Australia and getting our own house in order.
"We've looked at our game, de-briefed our game and certain aspects were very good.
"The best thing is we are in control of the elements where we didn't perform."
