Scots to face Canada at Pittodrie

Scotland head coach Frank Hadden

Aberdeen's Pittodrie Stadium is to stage Scotland's Test encounter with Canada on 22 November.

It is the second time the Granite City has played host to Frank Hadden's men, following a Barbarians clash in 2005.

SRU chief executive Gordon McKie said: "The national team enjoys tremendous support from the people of Aberdeen and the north-east of Scotland generally.

"It's important that they have a chance to savour full-blooded international sport on their own doorstep."

Scotland made history at the home of Aberdeen Football Club three years ago with their first-ever victory over the Barbarians.

"I hope we can pack Pittodrie to the rafters and give Canada a typically rousing Aberdeen welcome"
Scotland captain Jason White

And Scotland captain Jason White, who first sampled rugby at Aberdeen Wanderers, is looking forward to the occasion of the autumn's final Bank of Scotland Corporate Test.

"No matter how many times you play for your country, it's never something you take for granted," he said.

"For me to play in the city where I spent so much of my childhood and where I was first introduced to the sport would be massive.

"Our supporters in the north-east are among the most passionate and loyal Scotland fans anywhere and it's great that we'll be playing on their patch this autumn.

"I hope we can pack Pittodrie to the rafters and give Canada a typically rousing Aberdeen welcome."
