Newcastle opener for McLaughlin

Ulster coach Brian McLaughlin will take charge for the first time against Newcastle Falcons in a pre-season friendly at Ravenhill on 21 August.

The visit of the Guinness Premiership side is the first of three friendlies for Ulster.

Italian Super 10 team Viadana are next up on Wednesday, 26 August with the match also in Belfast - both Ravenhill games have 1930 BST starts.

The final friendly is away to Worcester Warriors two days later.
