Meyer ignores Carter's omission

Heyneke Meyer

Leicester Tigers head coach Heyneke Meyer says Dan Carter's omission from Perpignan's side will not make a difference to Saturday's outcome.

The All Blacks fly-half will miss a place in the French side's line-up in Saturday's Heineken Cup match because of commercial commitments.

Meyer told BBC Radio Leicester: "He's a quality player but you face quality players every single weekend.

"It will lift spirits but for me it's more about focussing on our own team."

Meyer added: "If we get that right we're good enough to beat any side."
