Leicester Tigers have refused to confirm reports that star Fijian wing Rupeni Caucaunibuca is weighing up a move to the club.
Tailevu Rugby Union secretary Nimilote Naivalumaira told the Fiji Times an offer from the Tigers was on the table.
He said: "He will fly over this week to look at the contract. Caucau will miss Saturday's game against Rewa."
The 28-year-old, commonly called Caucau, has been hailed as one of the most explosive wingers in the world.
Caucaunibuca, a star of the 2003 World Cup, was banned from playing for Fiji for 12 months in 2005 after failing to appear at several internationals.
He is currently playing for Tailevu folllowing seven months out of the game after being sent home by his French club Agen.
Australian Super 14 outfit New South Wales are also interested in the player, who has scored five tries in four outings for Tailevu since returning to action.
Tailevu coach Inoke Male added: "He is going to Leicester for a week to check things out. It's not yet finalised when he will be leaving but it could be by the end of this week."
