Prop White free to play in final

Julian White

Leicester prop Julian White is free to play in the Premiership final against Wasps at Twickenham despite being found guilty of stamping.

White appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel on Tuesday after he was cited in the semi-final win over Gloucester.

The offence usually carries a four to six-week ban but the panel suspended White for seven days, from 21-27 May.

Leicester's £5,000 fine and seven-day suspension was deemed sufficient.

The club-imposed ban meant White missed the game against the Classic All Blacks on 25 May.

A club statement had said: "Julian White immediately accepted his guilt of the offence. He has been remorseful and is very sorry that he has let down his team-mates."

Christopher Quinlan, assisted by Mike Curling and John Doubleday, were on the RFU panel.
