Blues sign ACT Brumbies flanker
Cardiff Blues have recruited Australian flanker Ben White from ACT Brumbies.
The Gosford man, 22, made the senior Brumbies squad last season after progressing through the Brumby Runners and Canberra Vikings teams.
"I spoke to Blues academy manager Justin Burnell who was in Australia in the summer and it developed from that," said White, a British passport holder.
"It is a great chance to expand my rugby experience and be in a strong squad on the other side of the world."
White was raised in Canberra and attended St Edmunds College, the school that also produced his Brumby team-mates Matt Giteau and George Gregan.
"Ben is obviously a versatile back-row player," said Blues coach Dai Young.
"At 6ft 4ins he's in the mould of Scott Morgan, he's rangy, very aggressive and can cover the whole back row so he's a great addition to our squad."
