Hobson hopes for birthday debut

Bristol prop Jason Hobson is hoping to mark his 25th birthday with his first England cap after being added to the squad to face Italy on Sunday.

Hobson was promoted from the Saxons squad as cover for Phil Vickery, who is a doubt with a calf injury.

"It's all a bit surreal. In fact, it's been an amazing few months," Hobson told his club's website.

"Sunday's actually my birthday so, if it did work out that I got a cap, it would be absolutely unbelievable."
