Claassens signs new Bath contract

Michael Claassens of Bath

Bath's South African scrum-half Michael Claassens has signed a two-year extension to his contract.

The 26-year-old was one of Bath's outstanding players in last year's campaign, making 32 appearances and scoring five tries.

"I really enjoyed my first season. There is no other club in England that I would consider," said Claassens.

Bath coach Steve Meehan added: "He is exactly the type of character and person that we want at the club."

The deal will keep the six-times capped international at The Rec until the 2010-11 season.
