Reconnect with rugby

England stars James Haskell and Paul Sackey hold aloft a rugby ball

If you're itching to dig out your old rugby shorts from the attic, but haven't played in eons, then now is the time to get back into the swing of things at the start of the new rugby season.

The Play On campaign is the Rugby Football Union's drive to encourage school and university players back into the game again through a network of rugby teams and contacts.

The launch of the scheme saw England's best rugby players in action in the heart of London's Trafalgar Square for the O2 Scrum on the Beach.

The current campaign builds upon the Go Play Rugby project - launched in July 2007 - which enticed over 12,000 players aged between 18 and 30 back into the game.

The scheme was widely seen as the most successful recruitment drive in English sporting history, with 750 clubs and universities across the country involved.
