Lipman escapes ban for stamping

Flanker Michael Lipman has been found guilty of foul play - but will not face punishment for stamping during England's defeat by New Zealand.

An International Rugby Board hearing in London upheld the citing but said Lipman's actions did not warrant a red card and imposed no further punishment.

The ruling means the Bath captain is free to play in the club's Heineken Cup game against Glasgow on Sunday.

Lipman played 58 minutes of the 32-6 defeat by the All Blacks at Twickenham.

During that spell the 28-year-old was ruled to have contravened IRB regulations by stamping or trampling on an opponent.
