Toby Flood takes on Treviso full-back Brendan Williams

Leicester will travel to the Ospreys in the last round of Heineken Cup group games as Pool Three leaders after thrashing Treviso.

The Tigers scored six first-half tries against Treviso through Scott Hamilton (2), Aaron Mauger (2), Matt Smith and a penalty try.

After the break they went off the boil but Geordan Murphy and Johne Murphy still touched down for the hosts.

Fly-half Toby Flood landed six conversions before being replaced.

Former All Blacks winger Hamilton swatted aside several Treviso players to score Leicester's first try after only four minutes and Flood popped over the simple conversion to set the Tigers on their way.

Geordan Murphy set up Hamilton for his second try less than 10 minutes later and although Flood missed the conversion he made no mistake from in front of the posts when the Tigers were awarded a penalty try midway through the half.

Scrum-half Ben Youngs, 19, then made a fine break to set up Mauger for their fourth try after 26 minutes, giving the Tigers the second-fastest four-try bonus point in Heineken Cup history.

Smith and Mauger added further tries and Flood added the conversions to make it 40-0 at the break.

A searing Young break laid the groundwork for Geordan Murphy to score the Tigers' first try of the second half, and seventh in all, before namesake Johne added another.

As the half wore on Leicester lost momentum as they rang the changes but they could have added a ninth try through the livewire Youngs, only for it to be chalked off for obstruction.

But it made little difference as the Tigers ensured they will travel to Swansea next weekend as group leaders, but needing at least a losing bonus point to secure their qualification.

If the Ospreys win and deny Leicester a bonus point, or Ospreys win with a bonus point, the Welsh side would go through.

If the top two sides finish a group level on points, qualification is decided firstly by which side has gleaned the most match points from their two meetings.

Leicester won the reverse fixture 12-6, with the Ospreys taking a losing bonus point.

Leicester acting head coach Richard Cockerill:

"Next week will be the acid test, we are playing away from home against a good side and it will be a knockout in a lot of ways.

"If we have aspirations to win the tournament we have got to be going to places like Ospreys and winning the games and getting a home quarter-final.

"But there have been some shock results, as we have seen today, and it's a very tough tournament."
