Pirates win ill-tempered cup tie
Cornish Pirates claimed the double over Launceston in the Cornwall Super Cup in an ill-tempered affair at Polson Bridge on Monday night.
Adam Staniforth's penalty gave the All Blacks a 3-0 lead after 12 minutes.
Just before half-time, Pirates flanker Sam Betty was sent off for a head-butt before Aisea Havili got the first try to lead 7-3.
Havili scored a second try after an hour and a late penalty completed the Pirates scoring.
It was an ill-tempered game which saw five players sin-binned.
Pirates centre Simon Whatling was given a yellow card in the first half, before second-half bookings for All Blacks duo Mike Provis and Mark Manton as they came under increasing Pirates pressure.
At the end, Pirates centre Paul Andrew and Andy Knight were also yellow-carded after a fracas.
It is the second win for the Pirates over the All Blacks in the Cornwall Super Cup after beating them 48-7 in September.
