Strange to make Carnegie return

Jason Strange

Leeds Carnegie's Jason Strange will make his return from injury in the National One game at Esher on Saturday.

The Welsh fly-half, 35, has been out of action since the opening-day win over Nottingham with a calf problem and will replace Alberto Di Bernado at 10.

"After a strong pre-season, it's been a frustrating start to the actual season for me," Strange told BBC Radio Leeds.

"This niggle has kept me out for longer than I thought, so I can't wait to get back out there on Saturday."

The former Bristol player was the first signing made by Leeds' new coaching duo of Andy Key and Neil Back in the summer.

Back said: "We are really pleased to have Jason back.

"Alberto has done very well this season, so Jason knows he has step up.

"He has been frustrated and disappointed and he feels he has let Leeds down by picking up this injury through no fault of his own.

"He's worked tremendously hard to get back and shown his professionalism to get back.

"He played in the A team earlier this week and he's now right to play and hopefully he'll steer us to victory at Esher."
