Moseley streak hits the buffers

Paul Arnold

Full-timers Exeter had too much firepower for Moseley, running out 70-10 winners in National League One.

The West Midland club, who rested five first-team regulars, were shown no mercy by the Devonians as they ran in 10 tries to Moseley's one.

Lock Paul Arnold tumbled over for that consolation score late on, his try converted by debutant Tristan Roberts.

Moseley return to home action on Saturday when they take on newly promoted Yorkshire club Otley.

After winning their two previous fixtures, the men from Billesley Common took the decision to save some key players for the more winnable fixtures to come.

As it is possible that as many as five teams will be relegated from National League One at the end of the season, the Moseley coaching staff have decided to target specific games in the hope of safeguarding their place in the second tier of English rugby union.
