De Villiers injury blow hits Boks

Jean de Villiers South Africa have suffered a blow with the news that centre Jean de Villiers will miss the rest of the World Cup.

The 26-year-old tore his left biceps in the Springboks' defeat of Samoa on Sunday and he will return to South Africa to undergo surgery.

Wayne Julies was called up on Monday as a replacement and will be available for Friday's Pool A game against England.

De Villiers, a key member of Jake White's team, missed the 2003 World Cup with an injury.

He is the second leading South African player to be ruled out of this year's tournament in France following the withdrawal of number eight Pierre Spies because of clots on his lungs.
