Marshall to play for World side

Justin Marshall All Black legend Justin Marshall will play for the World XV against South Africa in Leicester on 3 December.

The Ospreys scrum-half will be joined by Wales forward Michael Owen, South Africa winger Breyton Paulse and Australia's Morgan Turinui.

The match at Leicester City's Walkers Stadium will mark the centenary of the Springboks' first game abroad.

That game in Leicester was against a Midlands Counties XV. This one rounds off their autumn European tour.

Former Leicester coach Bob Dwyer will coach the World XV and he will be assisted by former Scottish captain and scrum-half Bryan Redpath, now assistant coach at Gloucester.

Dwyer said: "I am delighted Bryan will be joining me coaching the team. During his playing days he not only made a fantastic contribution on the field but off it as well, to both club and country.

"I have watched a few of Gloucester's recent matches and his knowledge of the game seems to be paying dividends with the team. His input during the week with the World XV will be invaluable."

Dwyer also coached a similar side in a game against South Africa at Ellis Park earlier this year, which the home side won 30-27.

UK-based players are unlikely to figure heavily but Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands could as they will all have concluded their own European tours by then.
