Wigan Warriors stand-off Sam Tomkins has signed a new five-year contract, that will keep him at the JJB Stadium until 2014.
The 20-year-old had two years left on his current deal, but the Warriors have moved to secure his long term future.
Wigan coach Brian Noble told BBC Radio Manchester: "He's going to be a super player. He complements our team and he's got a very bright future."
Tomkins added: "I am really pleased to have agreed an extended contract."
He continued: "I am a local lad and for me to play for my hometown club is something very special.
"The Wigan supporters have always been fantastic and I feel I am learning all the time with experienced players around me."
