Vaeau cancels Crusaders contract
Celtic Crusaders prop Ben Vaeau has cancelled his contract with the Super League newcomers for family reasons.
The 25-year-old Cook Islander, who can also play in the second row, was confirmed among nine new signings for the Bridgend-based club one week ago.
Crusaders coach John Dixon said: "As a club we are disappointed but we understand and agree that family commitments come first.
"There is a place open in our squad and it will be filled by a quality player."
He added: "As a player, he was excited about the opportunity offered to him, but in making his final decision based on his family's priorities, this meant that remaining in Australia was best for him."
