Robinson leaves Castleford Tigers

Michael Robinson

Football manager Michael Robinson has left Castleford Tigers.

Robinson has been at the club for three years, which has seen two relegations and two promotions, and is leaving to return home to Australia.

"I have enjoyed my time at the club, it has presented some real challenges," said Robinson.

"But it is time for a change now and I will be returning to Australia. I shall still keep a close watch on events at the Tigers."

Robinson added: "I would like to wish them all the best for the future."

The Australian has been responsible for bringing in the likes of Danny Nutley and Willie Manu during his period at the club.

Tigers chief executive Richard Wright said: "I would like to thank Michael for his efforts over the past three years.

"Michael played a big part in assembling our squads over that time.

"He did a particularly good job for us in 2005 bringing some very good players into our 2006 squad.

"We will be maintaining a link with Michael when he returns home and hope that he might be able to help us with players in the future.

"On behalf of everyone at the club we would like to thank him and wish him well."
