Chambers to learn league future

Sprinter Dwain Chambers is expected to find out if he has a future with Castleford in rugby league on Tuesday.

Castleford are trying to put together a sponsorship package to retain Chambers following a month-long trial.

Chambers, frozen out by UK athletics following a two-year ban for drugs, played his first rugby league game in a friendly against York last month.

He struggled to cope with the stamina required, before coming off with a shoulder injury.

Chambers has insisted he is serious about a future in rugby league.

And the Press Association says other clubs are interested in offering Chambers a deal if Castleford cannot.

However, on Saturday Chambers said he was still aiming to get his Olympic ban overturned so he could compete at the London Games in 2012, when he will be 34.

Chambers won a silver medal in the 60m at last month's World Indoor Championships, but is banned from running in this year's Olympics because of a British Olympic Association by-law.
