Workington clinch double signing

Rugby league

National League Two side Workington Town have signed Wigan prop Tommy Brindle and Salford loose forward Mark Hobson on one-year deals.

Brindle, 21, impressed in the Warriors' reserve grade this season and played a major part in the Reserve Grade Grand Final title win on Saturday.

Hobson, also 21, arrives from the National League One champions, who will be in Super League next year.

Meanwhile, rumours persist that hooker Shaun Lunt could join Huddersfield.

The clubs are believed to be in talks over a compensation package for the highly-rated 22-year-old.
