Warrington boosted caretaker boss James Lowes' chances of a permanent role as they went fourth in Super League.

Warrington took an early lead through Ben Westwood's try but Hull KR hit back through Chris Chester and Ben Fisher.

The hosts levelled as Martin Gleeson went over and although Shaun Briscoe crossed, Ben Harrison's converted try put Warrington 16-14 up at the break.

And they ensured victory with second-half tries from Paul Rauhihi, Chris Riley and Lee Briers (2).

Warrington caretaker boss James Lowes:
"I think wins bring confidence. The boys are performing a little bit better and they're doing the little things right.

"Some of the stuff we've been working on in training. There's still plenty to work on but as you know if you are playing OK you have a smile on your face and things seem to happen off the back of that."

Lowes on getting the job permanently:
"God knows. I haven't really thought about it. I'll just keep going really."

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan:
"It was there for the taking. At half-time we were well and truly in the game but Warrington did a really good job in keeping us in our own half in the second half.

"We made some poor decisions defensively and they upped the tempo and took advantage.

"We were in the game at half-time and effort has certainly improved based on the last fortnight but that doesn't get you any points and we're desperate for points at this stage of the season like everyone else."
