Dallas let Wang go

It is reported that the Mavericks decided not to match the Clippers' $6m offer.

Wang is a towering figure on the basketball court at 7 ft 1 in tall.

However, a bitter dispute with the China Basketball Association (CBA) has soured the Mavericks' relationship with the star.

Wang had agreed to return to China over the summer when the NBA takes its break.

Apology

However, he chose to work on his game instead and stayed in Los Angeles, turning out for a Californian Pro League side.

Dallas coach Don Nelson has had to apologise to the CBA for Wang's behaviour.

He said, "Wang signed a contract with his country that he would return there in our off-season to play for their national team."

"When Wang broke that contract, he also broke his word with us."

Last week, Wang was officially barred from playing for the Chinese national team for 'indiscipline.'

The Los Angeles Clippers are set to deal with this diplomatic dilemma after offering Wang a three-year contract.
