Ding hits maximum against Higgins
MAPLIN UK CHAMPIONSHIP
Venue: Telford International Centre Date: Saturday 13 - Sunday 21 December
Coverage: BBC Television, BBC Red Button and BBC Sport website
Ding Junhui recorded his second career maximum 147 break in the third frame of his UK Championship second-round match against John Higgins.
China's Ding, the 2005 champion, was trailing former world champion Higgins 2-0 in Telford but hit back in style.
After potting 15 reds and 15 blacks, the world number 11 looked nervous as he attempted to clear the colours.
But after stepping away from the table for a sip of water, the 21-year-old coolly potted the pink and black.
Ding is now in pole position to claim the £5,000 prize for the highest break and £25,000 bonus for the maximum, although that money would be split if another player recorded a 147.
