GB crews ease into semi-finals
Britain's men's lightweight four went through to the semi-finals by cruising to victory in the repechage on day four of the World Championships at Eton.
The quartet of James Clarke, Matt Beechey, Daniel Harte and Paul Mattick only came fourth in Tuesday's heat.
But they atoned on Wednesday by winning in a time of six minutes 13.12 seconds.
The women's lightweight double sculls of Jane Hall and Helen Casey made the semis but the women's eight's race was cancelled because of heavy winds.
The men's coxed four and lightweight quadruple sculls were both competing to decide the lane order for their finals.
The scullers limped home to a disappointing fourth place, but the British four looked in good form as they won their event.
Hugo Lee, the bowman for the coxed four, said: "We felt relaxed and there is still a bit in the tank for the final on Sunday.
"I know there will be more pressure but if we row our race then we don't need to worry about the others."
