England recorded their first victory over Australia since the early 1980s at the World Netball Series in Manchester.
Competing in the new Fast Net format, with power plays, shorter quarters and new scoring rules, England won 25-19.
"It was really intense out there and really tough but, whatever team we play against, we just stick to our game," said England goal defence Geva Mentor.
England earlier beat Malawi 33-22 and defeated Jamaica 27-24 in the six-team tournament, which concludes on Sunday.
However, those victories pale in comparison with the win over Australia, England's first in 26 years.

The home side started impressively at Manchester's MEN Arena, scoring three goals before Australia could answer back.
The Fast Net format, making its debut at this level of the game, requires that teams alter their tactics to cope with the increasingly quick and frenetic nature of the game.
And it appeared England had adapted more successively as Mentor and Sonia Mkoloma refused to allow Australia the possession they needed.
Australia levelled the match with the first shot of the second quarter, but England quickly responded to lead 10-7 at the halfway mark.
Both teams called a power play in the third quarter, doubling the points on offer for goals, which paid off for England as Jo Harten landed her attempt for four points, leaving her side nine points ahead.
That gap had narrowed to five at one stage in the final quarter, but England held on for their first victory over Australia in a generation.
