The countdown to the World Championships this weekend has begun and myself and the girls are ready!

Not long to go now and it has really has been a crazy few weeks with a few breaks and sprains throughout the England squad meaning some girls who have been training really hard have fallen at the last hurdle so to speak and not able to travel to New Zealand for the tournament.

Now the remaining girls are fit and ready and raring to go and are so well prepared for the few weeks we have ahead of us.

So for all of you who are unaware of our final team, it now looks like this; Amanda Newton, Karen Atkinson, Geva Mentor, Ama Agbeze, Jade Clarke, Jo Binns, Jo Harten, Louisa Brownfield, Tamsin Greenway, Sara Bayman, Pamela Cookey and me.

Let me be the first to say, that this is the team to watch!

We have been a squad of 20 girls and without the support and encouragement from those who were not selected we wouldn't be as prepared as we are.

So a special thanks also goes to Asha, Naomi, Naida, Chioma, Ebony, Rachel, Claire and Sasha. (loads of kisses to you guys!)

Before I forget, the Superleague has officially started! Wow and what a start.

It really is all for all with teams like Northumbria definitely stamping their mark with two great wins. I can say that the games are tight and finger-biting to watch! Close match after close match with new stars arising and putting out great performances.

Teams without National players? What a difference it makes - will there be places for us when we return?

Well I have a world championship flight to catch but I will keep you all posted on our progress.

Wish us luck

Sonia x
