Belfast 1-2 Coventry
The Belfast Giants suffered a blow to their Elite League title ambitions after losing out in Saturday night's low-scoring encounter at the Odyssey.
The hosts took the lead after 22 minutes though Brandon Benedict but the Blaze hit back to level thanks to Adam Calder's goal 14 minutes later.
Calder was the Coventry hero as he completed his double with the winner after 50 minutes.
The Giants take on the Cardiff Devils in Wales on Sunday (1800 GMT).
