Phantoms set for investment talks
Peterborough Phantoms general manager Phil Wing has revealed the club are actively seeking new investment.
Phantoms are keen to maintain their current squad, but will have to cut costs if financial help is not found.
Wing told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We were in negotiations with a party which would have meant a complete takeover of the club, but that came to nothing.
"However we are still talking to local businessmen, which may increase the director base within the company."
Phantoms have made a strong start to the new season and currently sit second in the English Premier League.
Crowds have fallen over recent weeks, but Wing says he will not be putting the club's long term future in jeopardy chasing short terms success.
"If we are able to secure the investment we are looking for that will enable us to manage the current wage cost," he said.
"But I want to ensure Peterborough's ice hockey team continues successfully for many years to come."
Nevertheless despite the club's current financial problems, Wing added that there is no danger of the club going out of business.
Phantoms travel to Telford tomorrow night before hosting Swindon at the Bretton Rink on Sunday.
