McLellan to fill Sharks hot-seat
San Jose have confirmed Todd McLellan as their new head coach, replacing Ron Wilson who was fired on 12 May.
General manager Doug Wilson said: "Todd has an excellent track record and has had success at every level of coaching in his career.
McLellan, 41, worked last season as an assistant coach for Stanley Cup winners the Detroit Red Wings.
His career to date has mostly been in lower league hockey. Wilson was named coach of Toronto on Tuesday.
He was fired despite capturing the Shark's capturing the NHL West's Pacific Division title for the second time in four campaigns.
